Natural Hairstyles In Vogue - Check Out Adaeze Yobo, Yvonne Jegede, Oreka Godis

Just yesterday, Khloe Kardashian debuted her braided cornrows [here] and it got me thinking about hairstyles for my natural hair. I could do cornrows easily when my hair was longer but now it's just growing out of the TWA, easy look hairstyles are harder to come by.

I spend a good amount of time searching for natural hair styles online, and often I leave my hair as wash and go. I have toyed around with the idea of cutting it again, but I'm not ready yet.

Seeing these lovely ladies rocking their natural hair gave me some life. Enjoy!

The story of Mark and Mia Shand is one that got me teary-eyed and I'm sure you will cry too when you get to know this amazing woman and how she stood by her man.

In 1986, about a year after Mia and Mark met, Mark was arrested, convicted and sentenced to life without parole for a murder he has now been cleared from. Last October, lawyers proved he had nothing to do with the crime and he was released.

CBS news caught up with the couple three months later, and it was their honeymoon. They had been married almost 20 years, but this was the longest amount of time the couple were spending together. This is the true meaning of "Love is patient and endures all things..., not the type force-fed to some women in abusive marriages.

Meredith Vieira will be discussing the topic of domestic violence and the hashtag #WhiIStayed on today's episode of her brand new afternoon talk show.

As activists continue to raise awareness on DV following the stories of Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson in the NFL, the former Who Wants to be a Millionaire host will be sharing a personal story of the experiences she had with an abusive boyfriend many years ago. She told ABC;

"It started out with, we’d have a fight and he’d just sort of grab my arm. I didn’t think a lot about it, and then it turned into pushing me against the wall and then it went beyond that to actually taking his hand and grabbing my face and saying, ‘I could ruin your career if I wanted to and no one would want you.'"

"Then there was the night that, we shared an apartment, and he threw me into a shower, naked in scalding water and then he threw me outside into the hallway, we lived in an apartment building, and I hid in the stairwell for two hours until he came again crying, and said ‘I promise I won’t do this again.’ And I continued to stay in that relationship until I was offered a job in another state and that’s where I felt I had the ability to get away."
