Nurse Tests Positive For Ebola After Treating Thomas Eric Duncan In Texas Hospital

In what is considered the first Ebola transmission in the US, a female nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas where Thomas Eric Duncan was treated, has tested positive for Ebola after a preliminary test.

A second test to confirm the infection will be done later today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Test results are expected to be announced before the end of Sunday.

A married Alabama pastor, Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church has confessed to his congregation that he discovered he had HIV over 10 years ago but continued to have adulterous sexual relationships with several parishioners without informing them.

The reverend, with 23 years of leadership as a pastor, made these confessions on the pulpit in a series of sermons. He also admitted to mismanaging church funds, and using drugs. Many of his members feel he deserves to be fired but the pastor disagrees.

Dr. Obianuju Vanstatia Okorocha has gotten married to Dr. Uzoma Tony Anwukah in both traditional and white wedding ceremonies. In addition to their similar professions, the couple come from illustrious families in Imo State. She is the second daughter of governor Rochas Okorocha and he is the first son of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Anthony Anwukah. The traditional wedding took place on Thursday and the church ceremony on Saturday 11th Oct 2014.

A Twitter user @spicybebe shared the photo above on Twitter, and according to her and certain other Nigerian Twitter users, she is a bird which fell from a power line in the Oshodi part of Lagos and turned into a woman by the time she landed on the ground. Confusing, right? Is it even possible?

A mob immediately gathered calling her a witch and it took the intervention of police men or the poor woman would've been lynched. Hmmm...

Okonjo-Iweala was announced winner yesterday October 10th from a shortlist which included Finance Ministers of Kenya, Angola, Rwanda, Liberia, Seychelles, Zambia and Kingdom of Morocco.
