#OscarsSoWhite - Twitter Complains About All-White Oscar Nominations

#OscarsSoWhite is the hashtag many on Twitter especially blacks and minorities are using to call out the non-diverse nominess for this year's Oscars. I mentioned in my initail post that David Oyelowo failed to make the cut for Best Actor like many expected. Others believe the film was generally snubbed, from the director to supporting actor roles, and say that with today also being Martin Luther King day, it would've been a nice birthday present if the film received more recognition.

There are collage photos of the mostly all-white nominess for the best actor, best actress and other categories, comparing them to FOX News anchors, Republican Party presidential hopefuls and senate committee chairmen.

Cristiano Ronaldo And Irina Shayk Have Broken Up?

RML featured the current World Footballer of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo and supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk in our couple love post last October, see here, noting that the two have quite a turbulent and tempestous off-again, on-again kind of relationship. And it seems they are off now.

In a follow up to rumors that Irina dumped Cristiano over Christmas after clashing with his mother, reports confirm that she has unfollowed him on Twitter.

Madonna has lent her social media klout to speak out againt the Boko Haram attacks in Baga, Bui and some other villages and towns in Northern Nigeria. From 2009 till date, over 10,000 people have reportedly died and several hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes.

International celebrities including Boris Kodjoe, Angelina Jolie, Nicki Minaj, Solange Knowles, Meek Mill, and have begun to comment on the killings after the outpouring of international support to France after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris. They and many more point out that the same sympathy and solidarity is not being shown for the Boko Haram killings in Nigeria.

Ellen DeGeneres Responds To Pastor Who Criticized Her For Celebrating Lesbianism

Ellen DeGeneres has replied a pastor who criticized her specifically while accusing Hollywood generally of having a “gay agenda”. The pastor and self-described “cultural commentator” Larry Tomczak called out Ellen in an article in The Christian Post titled “Are You Aware of the Avalanche of Gay Programming Assaulting Your Home?

He wrote that the talk show host, “celebrates her lesbianism and ‘marriage’ in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls.”

Ellen responded in a two minute sketch she shared on her Facebook page, and starts by saying; "I heard there was an article written about me and I would like to address it right now.” See the video below...

Kris Jenner Slams InTouch Magazine For Photoshopped Bruce Jenner Cover

Bruce Jenner is on the cover of the upcoming InTouch magazine photoshopped with makeup to look feminine. Supposedly, while Bruce hasn't responded to the magazine, his ex-wife Kris Jenner is said to be very angry about it.

Kris Jenner is outraged that Intouch Magazine doctored a photo of her 65-year-old ex-husband beacause she knows he is not having a sex change. In the photo, Bruce is wearing lipstick, curled hair and a woman's green silk scarf, with the headline, 'My Life As A Woman.'

Catholic Women Organisation President Says Women's Dressing To Blame For Rape?

Ngozi Chukwuji, the President of Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria (CWO), is reported to have said that the way women dress is the leading cause of increases in cases of rape. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), she said that "clothes that expose sensitive areas of the female body provoke sexual urge."

“What we are facing in our society is really amazing, even some of us that are married, the way we dress does not portray us as good mothers or good parents. So, we’ve been talking to our women, if you have a tailor that sews, you should be able to cover your body very well.

“Decency matters, while a lot of rapists are outside, its the way we dress, that attracts these people to us, our manners, our dressing portrays our manners, our dressing brings out the way we are.

The #OscarNoms aka nominations for the 87th Academy Awards has been released earlier today. Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel are the leaders with 9 nominations each followed by The Imitation Game with 8, Boyhood, 6, American Sniper, 6, Whiplash, 5, Interstellar, 5 and Foxcatcher, 5 nominations.

Selma is nominated for Best Picture and best Original Song, But David Oyelowo fails to make it for Best Actor like many expected. In the animated features which are my favorites, The Lego Movie was also snubbed. I also thought Nightcrawler would get more nominations. Oh well...
