Dolce and Gabbana On #BoycottDolceGabbana Outcry - 'Different choices.. Equal respect'

Posted in: , , ,

Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have issued a statement over the #BoycottDolceGabbana outcry [read here] saying it was never their intention to denigrate IVF or judge gay parenting and marriage. The comments by the duo which sparked the social media hashtag were from an interview where the two co-founders of the D&G line showed their support for ‘traditional’ families,

The only family is the traditional one. You are born and you have a father and mother. At least it should be like that. That’s why I’m not convinced by what I call chemical children, synthetic babies. They are wombs for hire, semen chosen from a catalogue. And then you have to explain to these children who their mother is.

This photo of a smiling and dressed down Aisha Buhari helping a road-side seller to fry akara has gone viral. The photo is part of street campaign this weekend in Abuja by wife of the APC Presidential candidate, with Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of Vice-Presidential aspirant.

With one being Christian and the wife of a pastor, and the other married to a devout Muslim and also one herself, maybe these two women can show Nigerians how the two religions can cohabit peacefully and equally. Yesterday, a photo of the duo buying suya at a local motor park also swept the imagination of social media as it went viral. See below...

Elton Johns Sparks #BoycottDolceGabbana Trend After Designer Speaks Against IVF

Posted in: , , ,

Elton John started the #BoycottDolceGabbana yesterday asking his fans to boycott the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana after the designers granted an interview in an Italian magazine castigating IVF [in-vitro fertilisation]. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, co-founders of the brand, called children conceived via the process ‘chemical’ and ‘synthetic’ in an interview with Panorama.

The interview showed that although the two co-founders are gay, and were a couple for 23 years, until 2005, they toe the line of support for ‘traditional’ families. The pair recently showcased this view during the latest Dolce and Gabbana fashion show where the theme was motherhood, and models walked the runway pregnant and with kids.

Meet The Black And White Twins Everyone Can Tell Apart

Posted in: , ,

Some twins are so identical they are like peas in  a pod, others are fraternal twins who look different but you can tell they're siblings. These twin sisters, Lucy Aylmer with white skin and straight ginger hair, and Maria Aylmer, with her thick curly hair and darker skin, are at the extreme of that. Both born minutes apart in January 1997 by the same mother, the twin sisters 'couldn’t look more different if they tried'.

Thanks to a rare scientific quirk resulting from their mother and father's mixed-race pairing, they were both born with different coloured skin. Their mum Donna is half Jamaican while father Vince is white. But when they heard they were having twins, they could never have guessed that they would produce twins looking so different from each other.

Woman Slammed For Seeking Baby-Daddy Online After One Night Stand Pregnancy

Posted in: , ,

Bianca Fazey from Australia had unprotected sex, during a one-night stand with a man in Perth, on April 23 last year and surprisingly discovered she was pregnant soon after. She had diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome in 2011 and had been told that she was unlikely to ever become pregnant easily. This is probably why she chose not to terminate the pregnancy, and she also believes the father has as much right to the child as the mother.

So Bianca has been looking for her one night stand partner since she realized she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she has had no luck, even going as far as posting an ad on Gumtree some months ago, but she is determined to keep searching, especially after her baby almost died at birth.

The lines Nicki Minaj shared along with a sexy selfie she just posted on her Instagram may be lyrics from the song she's currently writing, or a love letter to her new boyfriend Meek Mill, but it definitely strikes the right notes. Along with the photo below, which shows a close up of her boobs in a black lace and lycra gown, the rapper wrote;

Kanye West Calls Racism A Silly Concept & Has No Problem With White People Using N-Word

Posted in: , , , ,

Kanye West had a sit down with Clique TV in France during the Paris Fashion Week which he recently attended with wife Kim Kardashian. One of the topics that came up was racism and Kanye gave his own interesting perspective which is that racism is a non-thing and that it's outdated and overtaken by recent happenings. He also has no problem with white people using the N-word at concerts or singing along to rap music.

“It’s true that white people use that word at concerts. It’s like when my words get taken out of context. I can say anything I want on a beat, but when I would say it in an interview, it would be taken out of context, and all, ‘Oh, he’s an ego-maniac.’ But it’s like, ‘Wait a second, this is the way people rap.'”
