Dear Myne - Should I get even on my Cheating Husband?

Posted in: , , , ,

I discovered a few months back that my husband slept with another lady. This was less than 2mths after our second child, and 2 months to our fourth year wedding anniversary. To say that I was deeply hurt is putting it mildly.... I wept like never before and some of my thoughts included divorce and even suicide.

Posted in: , , , ,

I have blogged before about unique or non traditional brides and grooms, but today, I'll be asking about colored wedding gowns. Is it a do or don't for you? My interest was piqued when I heard that Kelis used a green gown when she got married to Nas. So below, I have collected some examples that I really love, from Red, to orange, blue, pink, green, and even black.

Fine Lady - Lynxxx Ft Wizkid; Music Video Romance

Posted in: , , , ,

I'm not a big fan of either Lynxxx or Wizkid's music, but I loved this video. OK, let me qualify that. I like Lynxxx. Who can't help but crush on such a fine specimen of bobo nkiti? The guy is just too clean, some people will say God made him on a Sunday. Back to the Fine Lady video, LOL...though the music is so-so, the quality of the pictures and the setting made it stand out. But that's not the main reason I liked this video. Who can guess?

At the Martin Luther King Memorial, Washington DC

Posted in: , , , , ,

Right from when the Martin Luther King Memorial was commisioned last year, I filed it away as a bucket list item, so when we planned a DC Trip, it got into our itinerary. It did take some walking to get there and a little drama with a couple of bike-rickshaws, but it was a trip worth making. Here's what the National Park Service says about the monument;

Obama still hopeful and wants four more years

Posted in: , , , , ,

I was thinking that Obama's speech last night would unveil a new keyword or slogan, or be built on his new campaign, Forward, but he went back to his Hope and Change keywords of the 2008 campaign. I was a bit hmmm...at first, but by the end of his speech, I got it. I hope he wins come November. The guy has met a lot of the goals he set for himself during the last campaign, he has a vision for the four years he's asking for, and I like that he's such a community/grassroots person.

Early this morning, I was engaged in a conversation with a friend of mine and our discussion left me thinking about the many battles people fight on the inside that we have no knowledge of. Behind every face is a struggling human spirit. Sometimes the struggle is rooted in physical pain or disease or difficult finances. Sometimes it grows out of wounded relationships. My friend and I were discussing the kind of demands we individuals place on the people in our lives, and how unrealistic some of them are.
