When do you take down the Christmas tree?

Posted in: , ,

So we put up the Christmas tree in the run-up to Christmas. The story of how we shopped for the tree and the ornaments will fill this blog post so I'll leave that for now. The question is when to take it down. After all the stress of buying it and then putting it up with the plenty decorations, we should leave it up till next Christmas. OK I kid, I kid...maybe till the end of January. And it's so beautiful when lighted up, what do you think?

    There is no said time to take down or put up your christmas tree, at least there isn't for me, i put it up when i want and take it down when I feel like it. You just go with what you feel.

  22. I'm not sure there are any hard and fast rules but here in my corner of Canada, if you have a real tree, the garbage service only collects it for the first two or three weeks of January so if you don't toss it by then then you have to keep it in your backyard and chop it up or something.

    I inherited an artificial tree from my friend this year and I had a lot of fun decorating it and setting up. It's pretty simple but you can see a pic here. I should take a pic with the lights on.

    My goal from now on will be to put the tree up by December 1 and take it down before January 1. I may see if I can put up some other decorations to symbolize the new year. Given my laziness though, I'm sure my tree will stay up until at least the first week of January is over.

    I love the smell of a real Christmas tree!

  25. I did not put up an xmas tree this year cos Tom-tom would just flaten it in 2 seconds.

    Your tree is lovely and if it helps brighten up winter a little bit, I'd keep it up for a while.

  26. Very Pretty! Your tree is colorful just how I like my tree. I say keep it to mid January. I usually like to light mine at night after the children have gone to bed, turn off all of the other lights and look at my tree and dream...

  29. @Christiejolu, Dith and Rhapsody, you're right, thanks again. That sure makes sense.

    @GNG, I'm yet to use a real Christmas tree. I've gone to areas filled with pine and I get you on the smell. It's even better when it's burnt in the fireplace.

    @Bubbles, LOL, you're the dodo. How are you girl?

    @Naijalines, Cerebrally, that's so funny.

    @Vivianne, It's just so sweet when you turn off all the lights and light up the tree. We've had some good times with that.

    Mr Funnyhoneymoney, Jelosi no go kill you sha, LOL.
