I got this email on Facebook from a guy who wants me to do some matchmaking for him. He wants a god-fearing virgin. I believe this is a honest request and that's why I'm posting it, even though it might not be for everyone.

ReplyDeletewhy are you painting the guy's request with some masked derision and sneer? if you have a problem posting his request then kindly tell him so or direct him to wherever you know which is much more suited for what he wants..he isn't asking for your personal view on virginity or to be preached at he is just saying that is what he wants probably in line with his religious beliefs..what if he is a virgin as well?
its funny how society has turned a lady being of sound morals into something worthy only of condemnation i would have though someone in your position will hold a contrary view considering the kinda stuffs we are seeing all about the cynthia incident,young girls posting nude pics up and down,young girls indulging in corporate prostitution e.t.c
i am a man but i believe it is of more pride and honour for a lady to refuse a man's sexual advances until she is ready for marriage and speaks of her believe and confidence in herself and her choice
..i won't judge those who are not virgins ,but i believe those who have opted to keep their virginity should be applauded these are part of the qualities our mothers had in the old days which made for a strong,close knit loving family ..
the so called freedom of these days has brought in its wake promiscuity on a level not seen before...now teenagers are posting pics of their breasts on twitter so they can trend and not being ashamed if thats your idea of people not being blinded by their pastor then good luck with females under your sphere of influence
Hello Luca, thanks for your comment. You can read some of my old posts to know where I stand. I am not deriding him, if not I won't post this. He is honest and entitled to what he wants in his life.

ReplyDeleteI agree with ‘lucabracee‘ in a way (I‘m not a guy, btw). In the first paragraph where you stated “....virgin-church central“, that was kind of full of underlying humour (I won‘t call anything derision, however). It‘s obvious it‘s funny to some people (the whole request/post) if not why will they be ‘loling‘ and laughing. It would have been good if you just left only the first two lines in the paragraph and deleted other sentences in the paragraph. He is a human being entitled to his own opinion and needs. How would you feel if people laughed at you for being yourself, to your face, literally (he‘ll most likely read the post and comments). He trusted you, that‘s why he placed his request. It might seem odd, but that‘s who he is and if you choose to publish his request, he should be allowed an opportunity to fully express himself and not be the butt of anyone‘s jokes (I‘m however aware of the fact that that is not what you intended).

ReplyDeletei suggest you go to the wosem denomination,i think they are an off shoot of car though i couldn't be sure and I'm not a member..i can bet my buttom pound that you will find this criteria there the problem is that you have to be sure of yourself and your christianity because those people's credit check is hard core..
first the girl has to agree,then she will inform her parents no matter how old then they will take your name to the pastor who will pray about it with the rest of the church elders...then you and the girl will pray and fast and they ll tell you to come back in like a couple of months after this if everything checks out you now have to face the parents who will do their own checks it is after all this before you can now get the ok to get married...while all this is going on
definitely no sex,kissing or any of that stuffs
she won't stay alone in your house or anyone's house with you
if you can abide by these conditions then look for a wosem church.i know cause a deacon in my church married his wife from the wosem church and also a friend

even though I'm a 33 year old Christian virgin, I have to confess that I laughed. Never mind the comments about underlying derision and such. I laughed because the man wasn't very articulate about himself and what he wants in a woman. It sounded like your typical "hello girl, I love you , can I know you better?"
