I have received two copies of The Enchanted truth by Kym Petrie from the publishers so I have a copy to giveaway. To stand a chance to win it, keep reading.
My review - I was a somewhat surprised when I tore open the parcel containing this book because I had expected something different. I knew it was hardcover so I expected a chunkier book, this has just about 40 pages. I also thought it was plain fiction, but it is partly a self-help book.
The Enchanted is quite an amusing read, hilarious in places, and it took me less than 30 minutes to finish reading it. It is basically a story about a lady and her love problems and is told in a whimsical and fairy-tale style. This style made it a breeze to read but the book is also serious. I like that it dealt with a lot of the issues young women have to face as they begin dating.
The heroine in the book, a princess in a castle, encounters a lot of different kinds of men in her search for love, and experiences heartbreak. Her mother can stand in for most of the other women in our lives, pressuring us in one way or the other to make do and just find a man. But in the end, each one of us has to develop ourselves first of all, and find our own path.
Book Blurb:
In this humorous and insightful tale, a modern day princess finds herself single and asking for magical intervention to change her sorry love life. Rather than casting a spell to bring Prince Charming to her rescue, a savvy fairy godmother gives the tenderhearted damsel an unexpected gift. By entrusting her true thoughts and desires to an unlikely confidant, the young royal soon discovers that the person who could make her life everything she dreamed it would be has been with her all along.
As author Kym Petrie herself realized, every woman needs a froggy friend and a secret journal—and enough adventures with the girls to keep her heart pounding and her mind racing. Life is meant to be about happy beginnings . . . you can never have enough of them.
To win a copy of The Enchanted Truth, just say something nice to me in the comments. This is only open to those in the US. Good luck.

Thank you for the giveaway and the review! Sounds like a great book :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a cute read :)
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that a hardcover would be that short, especially since it is priced like a regular (as in a few hundred pages) book.
I'm not quite certain how a self help book and a fiction book would work in the same pages - guess I just don't have enough imagination!
Thanks for the review!
