The Meeting (produced by Rita Dominic and directed by Mildred Okwo) is now online for $4.99. The movie a romantic drama/comedy that does not shy away from serious issues. The movie stars Rita Dominic, Femi Jacobs, and Linda Ejiofor, along with Jide Kosoko, Kate Henshaw, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Chinedu Ikedieze, and Chika Chukwu.
The Meeting was released in Nigerian cinema in November 2012, and only ended its run some months ago. The movie received 6 nominations at the 2013 African Movie Academy Awards, including nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Rita Dominic), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Femi Jacobs), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Linda Ejiofor), and Best Nigerian Film.
Set in Abuja, the story is about the trials of a Lagos-based corporate executive Makinde Esho (Femi Jacobs) who finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, bureaucratic red tape. He’s struck by Cupid’s arrow while in hot pursuit of a ‘meeting’ to secure a government contract.
The Meeting addresses an array of contemporary issues audiences are sure to identify with from love to African time, to the trials of tackling officials and manoeuvring red tape.
