Pictures From Night Vigil Marking One Month Since Kidnap of Chibok Schoolgirls

Posted in: , , ,

Yesterday marked one month since the Chibok schoolgirls were seized from the dormitories and taken away by armed men who turned out to be Boko Haram. The #BringBackOurGirls campaign started on twitter about a week after with accompanying street protests all around the country. The protests were led in Abuja by Dr Oby Ezekwesili.

The Abuja group marked the one month anniversary with a night vigil at the ThisDay Dome, Abuja last night. More than 250 people, many of whom have been attending daily rallies for two weeks, came out for the vigil. Some of those who attended include Former Minister for Education, Oby Ezekwesili, Otunba Dino Melaye, Mallam El Rufai, parents of the kidnapped Chibok girls and several other protesters.

Parents from Chibok were also in attendance and together they all poured out their to God in prayer, and thanked the crowd for the concern. May God answer all our prayers, Amen.
