When news of Omawumi's pregnancy broke in 2011, the identity of her baby’s father was shrouded in mystery, and as such, several random names began to fly around.
Omawumi welcomed the baby in June 2011 and named her Emmanuella Kamillah Yussuf, leading to media reports that Tosin Yussuf, one time co-owner of Zamunda night club was actually Kamillah’s father.
The baby’s godmother, Waje seemed to confirm this when she mentioned Tosin Yussuf in a tweet last year in reference to rumors that Omawumi's baby daddy was not well. She wrote; ‘Tosin Yussuf is fine and well, leave the poor girl alone. Tufiakwa!!!’.
In late 2013, Omawumi released a masked picture on instagram [see here] of her family that included herself, her daughter and the baby's daddy, with the caption;
‘Thank you so much for your patience. Clearer photos and good news sooner than you know. God is always good’
NETng was the first to release the picture of Tosin Yussuf and report authoritatively that he is Omawumi's baby daddy and they would be getting married soon.
Tosin Yussuf holds a degree in Business Management and an MSc in International Business from De-Montfort University, Leicester. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2008 and is now a player in the real estate industry as the founding director of Lloyd Gate Ltd.
Omawumi dropped hints of an upcoming wedding as a guest on Channels TV’s Sunrise programme, saying;
‘I will probably get married next year. We might do a location wedding or a local wedding. Warri is a good destination.’
