All the buzz is that the end is nigh for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s six year marriage, but I don't want to believe it. Why? Their twins of course!
I'm a huge fan of Mariah, and though I didn't much care for Nick Cannon as a celebrity before their marriage, I've actually warmed to him since being connected to Mariah, and welcoming their beautiful twins. I also watch America's Got Talent and he is not bad as a host.
I also choose to disbelieve the reports, for now, because Mariah has been sharing pictures of them all as a family on her FB page up to June 2014, as the picture above shows. I actually shared this photo back then, see here.
Nick appears a great father, and they look like a happy family. It's true he has been missing from her pages recently, but it could just be that he's busy with work in another location?
Sadly, this is not so. People reports he has been living in a New York hotel for most of summer. Nick Cannon confirmed this to The Insider With Yahoo Thursday.
"There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids."
A source says that despite outward displays of solidarity, like spending Mother's and Father's day together with their 3-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, things between them "have been bad for a while," .
TMZ claims that the couple are currently going through divorce proceedings ;
'We're told divorce lawyers have been negotiating a property settlement and custody agreement for months and the divorce is "a done deal"'
Supposedly, Mariah took umbrage after Nick appeared on a radio show back in March and listed 5 women in a pointless game tagged, “5 celebs you’ve slept with,” including Kim.
I'm sure she must have known or guessed, he was with Kim for several months, or maybe he had lied to her before then, but she didn't appreciate the comparisons. And then Nick appeared on Howard Stern and talked about Mariah making them remain celibate before their wedding. The abstinence is a good thing, but putting it all out there? SMH.
They add that Mariah is not happy with Nick taking every job that’s offered to him, which keeps him away from the kids, especially when they don’t need the money.
On his side, Nick allegedly has a problem with Mariah getting upset when he dares to disagree with her, because she surrounds herself with "yes men." As for being away from home for work, Nick claims he's just trying to be hardworking and has generated $75 million since 2011 for the family.
Making money is all well and good, Nick, but what if you don't need it? You're married to woman worth half a billion dollars, forget about being a "man", which I can wager is your driving force, and consider your kids, Nick!
And this goes for Mariah too. Please you guys should work it out. I can imagine you being mad at him, but I doubt the story by TMZ is enough grounds for a divorce. Surely, you should be able to work through it? Especially considering your young children?

Sadly, I think the end is nigh for these two. On Mariah's part, she had earlier said that she never really believed in marriage because growing up she never saw an example of one that worked (her parents separated when she was two and she saw her dad intermittently thereafter. On Nick's part, he is yet to mature as a man and is also constantly trying to prove that he is not riding Mariah's coattails. Unfortunately for him, he will always earn a fraction of what she does. Bottom line: Mariah kickstarted her career with her first marriage, and kickstarted a family with her second. Nick Cannon's job in Ms Carey's life is pretty much done. Any longer and he will be working unpaid overtime. I had really hoped they would make it work but their egos seem too large for that to happen.
