Jennifer Lawrence Leaked Photos To Remain on Adult Website Due To Copyright Issues

Posted in: , , ,

Jennifer Lawrence’s attorney is reportedly locked in a battle with bosses of an adult content website over the copyright of leaked intimate photographs of the actress.

Remember the monkey selfie and the debate over who owns pictures? Is it the person in the picture, the person who owns the camera, or the person who took the pictures? Many argue it is the person who took the pictures unless he has signed over his rights.

Unfortunately for 24-year-old actress, Jennifer Lawrence, one site featuring nude images stolen from her phone and leaked online is fighting back against a request to remove the illegally obtained photos using that very argument.

The site’s stance is since some of the pics are NOT selfies, the person who actually took those photos would most likely hold the copyright,” reports TMZ.

The unidentified adult content provider is now reportedly demanding Lawrence’s attorney proves her ownership of the non-selfie pictures or reveal the name of the individual who took the images.

Lawrence’s legal snag comes three days after she confirmed she would be pursuing legal action against the individuals responsible for obtaining and publishing the authentic and personal shots [see here]. Her reps had warned;

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

On Monday, the FBI have also confirmed they will get involved in the investigation of the stolen pictures and Apple has already looked into the hack into the celebrities' iCloud accounts.
