A 9-year-old from Providence along with two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old have been charged for an attack on a 45-year-old man. The four of them are now being kept at a youth facility while they await their trials.
According to FOX News, the children were arrested and charged after they demanded money from a man and then attacked him using a “wooden object” and rocks.
The children have all been charged with first-degree robbery and it’s unknown if other charges (related to the beating of the man) will be filed. The four boys were in family court on Wednesday.
Inquisitr reports that the 9-year-old Providence boy may get a lesser punishment than his older friends.
(it is unknown if any of the boys were related), however all four are considered minors, so it’s possible that they will all face the same consequences. There is a chance that the youngest boy went along with his friends or was talked into doing this, but that may not be enough of a defense for him.
I can't help but wonder where the parents of these children are? If a child starts committing crime at 9 years, what does the future look like? I hope they get help.
