BREAKING - Nigerian Govt & Boko Haram Agree To Cease Fire, To Secure Release of Chibok Girls

The Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh [pictured above], has reportedly directed all service chiefs to comply with a ceasefire agreement between Nigeria and Boko Haram in all areas of operations.

Various media outlets are reporting that the directive follows a ceasefire agreement reached by the Nigerian government and Boko Haram earlier today.

The agreement was signed at a meeting between Nigerian government officials, the Chadian government and representatives of Boko Haram.

According to ChannelsTV, the agreement was secured during the meeting which held in N’Djamena, Chad on Friday morning with Ambassador Hassan Tukur, the Principal Private Secretary to President Goodluck Jonathan, in attendance.

A major part of the discussions was a negotiation to secure the release of the 219 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram back in April.

Danladi Ahmadu, who is reportedly Boko Haram’s Secretary General, allegedly confirmed the cease-fire agreement to Voice of America.
