Newlywed Doctor Kills Wife Then Shoots Himself Just Minutes After Wedding Reception

Posted in: , , ,

54-year old George Scott Samson, an anesthesiologist, got married to 50-year old Kelly Ecker on Saturday, and by the early hours of Sunday, he had murdered her and then killed himself in a disagreement that some say started over money issues.

This is another couple murder-suicide is just as many days. Unfortunately, some of the bride's friends had actually posted happy pictures of her at her wedding reception. See the pics and more details below...

The County Chief Deputy Sheriff Clark Cottom said in an email;

"The investigation has revealed that there was a verbal argument between the couple toward the end of the reception, which carried over to the after party at the couple's home."

"Shortly after the last guest left at around 1:17 a.m., Kelly Ecker Samson called 911 reporting that her husband had threatened to kill her. There were a total of three very brief 911 calls, which in the first two the caller disconnected."

While she was on the line, dispatchers heard what was thought to be multiple gunshots in the background.

Kelly Samson's son and an elderly couple were inside the home at the time of the shootings.

While the police chief did not say what caused the argument, Dailymail says George and his bride, who worked as a Nurse at the same hospital as him, had got into an argument at the wedding reception over their pre-nup.

The doctor had been heard shouting; 'You'll never get your hands on my money'.

According to local reports, police deputies responding to frantic 911 calls early on Sunday found Kelly Samson, 50, shot several times in the torso and head with a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol.

They found Dr. George "Scott" Samson, 54, dead in the basement after he apparently shot himself once in the head with a .45-caliber handgun.

So sad.
