Bobbi Kristina Brown's Breathing Tube Removed - Sources

Bobbi Kristina is the only daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown and has been hospitalized since last week Saturday when she was found unresponsive and face down in a filled bathtub in her home. Sources are now saying that the breathing tube has been removed, according to CNN.

There were earlier reports that the family agreed to remove her from life support on Feb 11 to coincide with the third anniversary of her mother's death. However,  the Brown family later released an official statement on the comatose 21-year-old, rejecting the initial reports that she will be let go on that date.

Removing her breathing tube however does not mean the end as Bobbi Kristina Brown continues to fight for her life. CNN reports that she remains in a medically induced coma at the Atlanta hospital where she's being treated, and doctors are attempting to slowly lift her coma, according to sources close to the family.

The sources say the procedure to remove the breathing tube supposedly took place yesterday and Bobbi Kristina will now be ventilated through a hole in her throat. CNN's medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta says the move lowers the risk of infection and is standard procedure.

"This is an indication that the patient will need this for weeks and months to come, as opposed to hours and days." 

Bobby Brown had always held out hope for his daughter's recovery and had released a statement two weeks ago concerning the rumors of daughter Bobbi Kristina's family coming to say good bye as well as other rumors that she was brain dead, saying such reports are false. He also made it clear through his lawyers that Bobbi Kristina was never legally married to Nick Gordon, her love of many years whom many assumed was her husband. Bobby Brown

Nick Gordon had recently gotten Bobbi Kristina's name tattooed across his arm in huge cursive letters and he posted the above picture on his Facebook page.

Nick Gordon called Bobbi Kristina her his companion in his last and only statement, read here. He continues to be barred from visiting her bedside in an Atlanta hospital but has made public pleas for the family to allow him to visit her.

Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon lived together for many years and had announced that they tied the knot in January 2014. Many have blamed him for her supposed suicide attempt, and he was investigated by the police for irregularities surrounding the incident.

Nick Gordon had been among the first to find Bobbi Kristina unresponsive in the bathtub and had been the one to give her GPR till paramedics arrived.
