Woman Uses Ovulation Kit to Get Baby Girl After 200 Years of Family Having Only Sons

When Myla Lawrie was born in October last year, she was the first girl to be born in her family since 1809. When she was brought home from hospital, a veritable sea of pink greeted her, with clouds of balloons filling the sitting room, along with cards, bunting and ribbons in every shade of girliness.

It was a big celebration put together by the excited mom who wanted to enjoy all aspects of having a baby girl. Hannah Lawrie, the mother, has now revealed to Mail Online that using ovulation kits was the key in her journey to becoming the mother of a baby girl.

Samuel Forrest is from New Zealand but works and lives in Armenia, and his wife is also from Armenia. The couple recently had a baby and Sam was surprised when the baby was taken out of his wife's room soon after the birth. Hospital authorities wouldn't let the new dad see the baby or his wife  as was the custom in the country's hospitals when a child is born with Down's Syndrome.

Samuel did not understand all this until several minutes later when he was finally able to follow doctors and nurses into a room to meet his baby. That was when they told him that his son, whom he has now named Leo, had Down syndrome. Though the new dad had a few moments of shock, he got over it and when he held Leo for the very first time, he said, "he's beautiful -- he's perfect and I'm absolutely keeping him."

Shakira and partner Gerard Pique have shared the above adorable photo of new born baby son Sasha, in aid of a children's charity, just as they did with her baby bump, see here.

The singer and dancer directed people to a baby shower page to go see a photo of Sasha who was born Jan 29, in Barcelona. She also shared another photo on her Twitter page of the tiny baby's foot. Shakira writes that Sasha has his dad Pique's feet in reference to playing football :)

Uche Ogbodo got into the news after reports of the collapse of her brief marriage hit the blogosphere. The Nollywood actress had started her marriage rites to former footballer Ato Ubby but their relationship broke down soon after. 28 year old Hayley Haynes, was born without a viable womb, ovaries or fallopian tubes. Throughout puberty she did not have periods, and doctors later discovered she had no reproductive organs thanks to a condition called androgen insensitivity syndrome. At 19, doctors told her she had XY chromosomes which genetically makes her male and that she would never conceive.

'When they told me I had no womb, I was so confused I felt sick. My biggest fear was never having children. Suddenly a huge piece of my life was missing. I felt like half a woman and was embarrassed. How I was going to tell a guy I was genetically male when I started dating?'
