Dolce and Gabbana On #BoycottDolceGabbana Outcry - 'Different choices.. Equal respect'
Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have issued a statement over the #BoycottDolceGabbana outcry [read here] saying it was never their intention to denigrate IVF or judge gay parenting and marriage. The comments by the duo which sparked the social media hashtag were from an interview where the two co-founders of the D&G line showed their support for ‘traditional’ families,
The only family is the traditional one. You are born and you have a father and mother. At least it should be like that. That’s why I’m not convinced by what I call chemical children, synthetic babies. They are wombs for hire, semen chosen from a catalogue. And then you have to explain to these children who their mother is.
Elton Johns Sparks #BoycottDolceGabbana Trend After Designer Speaks Against IVF
Elton John started the #BoycottDolceGabbana yesterday asking his fans to boycott the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana after the designers granted an interview in an Italian magazine castigating IVF [in-vitro fertilisation]. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, co-founders of the brand, called children conceived via the process ‘chemical’ and ‘synthetic’ in an interview with Panorama.
The interview showed that although the two co-founders are gay, and were a couple for 23 years, until 2005, they toe the line of support for ‘traditional’ families. The pair recently showcased this view during the latest Dolce and Gabbana fashion show where the theme was motherhood, and models walked the runway pregnant and with kids.

The US Supreme Court Agrees To Rule On Gay Marriage
The Supreme Court agreed Friday to resolve the national debate over same-sex marriage once and for all. The justices will consider four cases from Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, consolidated and heard together. They will hear 2 1/2 hours of oral arguments in April and issue a ruling before the current term ends in late June.
The new challenges to gay marriage bans are destined to become even more of a landmark than those decided by the court in 2013 — United States v. Windsor, which forced the federal government to recognize gay marriages, and Hollingsworth v. Perry, which made California the 13th state to allow them.

Church Stops Funeral Because Dead Woman Was Lesbian And Married With Kids
Vanessa Collier lived as a gay woman, was married and had two children. Her wife, Christina Higley shared the photo above of their family as she asked for the reason why a church and the pastor chose to humiliate them after they paid to use their facility for Vanessa's funeral. The bereaved family and their guest had come for the funeral of their late wife, mother and friend when the pastor of the host church, New Hope Ministries, intervened and stopped the service.
Pastor Ray Chavez said the funeral could not continue since they planned on showing pictures of Collier with her wife, their proposal and wedding photos, their two children, and their life together. The pastor wanted there to be no clue in the picture display that Collier was a lesbian. Christina and their friends are protesting and want their voice heard, and their pain felt. She details what happened in a Facebook post, read below..

The TLC channel in the US is planning to air a special titled “My Husband’s Not Gay,” this coming weekend. The one-hour show will be about Mormon couples in Salt Lake City where the male spouse is open about also being attracted to men. But they love their wives and are prepared to do all they can to make their marriage, happy, faithful and longlasting.
In Nigeria, these things are not so clear cut. A lot of us are Christians, we believe that homosexuality is a sin. In most local cultures, it is also taboo, while marriage and child-bearing is esteemed. One issue many people could not understand with Kenny Brandmuse's coming out post was the fact that his now ex-wife knew he was attracted to men when she agreed to go along with the wedding.
He wrote that she thought it was a childhood obsession that he would keep in the past. Unfortunately he found other men he preferred to his wife and chose to let her go than cheat on her.
