Nick Gordon who was thought to be Bobbi Kristina Brown's husband has broke his silence today through his lawyers. He denies he will be seeking legal action to visit Bobbi Brown at her bedside. He also kind of confirmed what her father said that the two are not married by not referring to Bobbi as his wife. His attorneys, Randy Kessler and Joe Habachy told Us Weekly.

"In response to reports that Nick Gordon is taking legal action, he would like it to be clear, he is not. Mr. Gordon's only concern is the recovery of Bobbi Kristina. [Gordon] remains in constant prayer for his companion, and he hopes to be reunited with her soon. Despite the incredible public interest, we ask and hope that this request can be resolved privately by Mr. Gordon and the family."

Woody Deant's photo was discovered by his sister, an army player, as she was about to use the police shooting range with her team for their annual training. To her shock, one of the images was her brother from his mug shot taken 15 years ago, and it was riddled by bullets.

Matthew Ajibade, a 22-year-old Nigerian student in the U.S. was completing a degree in computer science before he died last week while he was in police custody. Ajibade was arrested on New Year's day after assaulting his girlfriend. She called the cops and when Ajibade became aggressive during the arrest, she reportedly told responding officers that he had mental-health issues and gave the cops his prescription bottle for his medication.

At the police station also, Ajibade again fought with the arresting and booking officers and was subsequently charged with "domestic violence, battery and obstruction of an officer.” He was then put in a holding cell where he later died.

Posted in: ,

After all that has been happening with the police, and especially in New York with the choking death of Eric Garner, one would expect the NYPD officers to be more judicious in their work. However, a plainclothes police officer has been caught on camera punching one of two teenagers who were already in handcuffs during a street arrest.

The video, uploaded to YouTube last Monday, shows three officers restraining the teenager. Suddenly, a plainclothes officer hurls himself onto the suspect, punching him twice in the back.

British Police Better Trained? Teenager Aims Rifle At Police Without Being Shot Dead Instantly

Posted in: , ,

The United States has been embroiled in protests about police brutality especially against black men and seeing these pictures gave me an inkling of how different things could be. The most heart-breaking story of course is that of Tamir Rice.

12-Year-Old Tamir Rice was playing with a toy BB gun when someone called 911. One of the officers to arrive at the scene, Timothy Loehman, shot the boy within seconds of jumping out of the police squad car. He believed Tamir Rice had a gun, police say, and he thought the boy was 20 years old.

Viral Ferguson hug photo staged? That is the question many black people are asking days after the above touching photo of a white police officer hugging an emotional African-American boy went viral. Many are going as far as calling the image a white media propaganda to denigrate black protesters.

The photo was taken at a Portland, Oregon protest following the St Loius grand jury ruling that no criminal charges would be brought against Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri this past summer.

Police Shoot And Kill Unarmed Man In New York

Posted in: , ,

Wrong place at the wrong time. An unarmed 28 year old man was shot and killed by a police officer in Brooklyn New York last Thursday, and initial reports say it may be an accidental discharge. Police say it was just an 'unfortunate tragedy' because he wasn't engaged in any criminal activity.

The victim, Akai Gurley, (pictured above) had been visiting his girlfriend’s apartment in the Brooklyn housing projects. The couple later tried to take the elevator as they were about to leave her place but it seemed the elevator wasn't working, so they decided to take the stairs.

It was in the stairwell that Gurley was hit by gunshot from a nervous rookie police officer doing a routine check of the building.

After a settlement meeting, she will be receiving $1.5m in compensation. The bulk of the money will go into a special needs trust for the 51-year-old victim, Marlene Pinnock.

Pinnock's lawyer Caree Harper said the settlement secured the two things she wanted.

"One of the things we wanted to make sure of was that she was provided for in a manner that accommodated her unique situation in life, and that the officer was not going to be an officer anymore."

A policeman who is supposed to be on duty was busy taking a SELFIE as a man prepared to jump to his death from a bridge.

During the desperate man's final moments, the selfie-obsessed cop is seen posing for snapshot just feet away.

The clearly distressed man is caught in the background of the sick shot, clinging to the bridge in the Turkish capital Istanbul.

Just seconds later he leapt almost 600ft to his death, after attempts by other officers to talk him down failed.

But a picture of the policeman's heartless selfie has sparked fury in Turkey, and the officer in question now faces an investigation.

#Ferguson - If You Don't Want To Get Hurt, Don't Challenge Me - Cop Writes In Open Letter

Posted in: , ,

By Sunil Dutta

A teenager is fatally shot by a police officer; the police are accused of being bloodthirsty, trigger-happy murderers; riots erupt. This, we are led to believe, is the way of things in America.

It is also a terrible calumny; cops are not murderers. No officer goes out in the field wishing to shoot anyone, armed or unarmed. And while they’re unlikely to defend it quite as loudly during a time of national angst like this one, people who work in law enforcement know they are legally vested with the authority to detain suspects — an authority that must sometimes be enforced. Regardless of what happened with Mike Brown, in the overwhelming majority of cases it is not the cops, but the people they stop, who can prevent detentions from turning into tragedies.

Working the street, I can’t even count how many times I withstood curses, screaming tantrums, aggressive and menacing encroachments on my safety zone, and outright challenges to my authority. In the vast majority of such encounters, I was able to peacefully resolve the situation without using force.

#MikeBrown - Black Teen Killed By Police Inspires Touching #IfTheyGunnedMeDown Pictures

Posted in: , ,

Mixed reactions followed the shooting death of Missouri teenager, Mike Brown, who was about to leave for college a couple of weeks before he was shot by police, leading to violent protests in his hometown [read report].

Now those riots have been ended by security agencies and the FBI have begun to investigate the shooting, but the portrayal of the teen in most media reports have led to a different kind of protest on social media.

On Twitter, the conversation has spawned a viral hashtag #IfTheyGunnedMeDown, started by Twitter user @CJ_Musick_Lawya "to make a statement on how the media draws a biased narrative when it comes to telling the stories of black men and women."

Remember how the hoodie suddenly got a bad rap after Trayvon Martin? Check out some positive and negative comparison pictures being shared under this hashtag that is turning out to be more powerful than the originator could have imagined.
