First Patient Diagnosed With Ebola in the US Named and Identified, How He Travelled To America

Thomas Duncan, a Liberian citizen, has been identified and named as the first patient to be diagnosed with Ebola in the US. The 42-year-old had gone to the United States to visit family and friends before falling ill with the Ebola Virus Disease.

The New York Times reports that Duncan had direct contact with an Ebola infected pregnant woman in Liberia on September 15, four days before he left for the United States. The woman's parents and Duncan's neighbors in Monrovia, Liberia, said Duncan had helped carry the sick woman home after a hospital turned her away because there wasn't enough space in its Ebola treatment ward.

Since then, however, she has been more and more unhappy with her life as a woman, and now wishes to go back and become a man again. That will require another £14,000 to do so, and Chelsea also wants the NHS to foot the bill.

Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau, has dismissed reports that the military killed him while appearing in a new video obtained by AFP.

The new 36-minute video showed Shekau, in combat fatigues and black rubber boots, standing on the back of a pick-up truck and firing an anti-aircraft gun into the air.

Standing in front of three camouflaged vans and flanked by four heavily armed, masked fighters, he then speaks for 16 minutes in Arabic and Hausa.

Michael Dunn had quarelled with the teens about the loud music emanating from their vehicle, and then pulled out his weapon and fired at them, killing Jordan Davis in the process.
