Going For Gold - The Williams Sisters and Gabby Douglas

Posted in: , , , , , , ,

At this stage, I think I am beginning to come to terms with Nigeria's lacklustre performance at the Olympics. It might even be possible that the country gets no medals at all at the end of the day. It's not over though, but in the meantime, I'll be celebrating some of my favorite golden girls!

At the Newseum in Washington DC - Weekend Pictures

Posted in: , ,

As a blogger, you can imagine that I was very interested in the new media section of the Newseum in Washington DC during our last trip. Another section I liked was the front pages from different countries and cities of the world. The section on 9/11 made me cry with the audio/visual showcase, may the souls of those who died rest in peace. Enjoy the pics...

The Fresh Scent of Tide Plus Bleach Alternative

Posted in: , , ,

Around these parts, Atala is one in charge of laundry. He decides on the detergents to use and sorts and loads the clothes in the washer. I sometimes help to unload, put in the dryer, fold away, that sort of thing. I couldn't help noticing when some weeks ago when I was folding some of my light-colored clothes that they looked brighter and so I asked. Turns out, he picked up a new detergent for the light colors since our supermarket had run out of our usual brand. The new one was the Tide Plus Bleach Alternative.

Your Best and Worst Travel or Flight Experience

Posted in: , , ,

Hello everyone, I am now back home and so knackered. So my trip back home takes about 24hrs altogether and at the end, I was feeling like a zombie. I've had some sleep now but still jet-lagged. I'm now thinking of the whole travel experience and how it wasn't so bad. I was freaked out each time we had some turbulence though, I pray God clears my mind of the fear I've had since that Dana Crash.

Public Display of Affection - Obama Kisses Michelle

Posted in: , , , , ,

Talking of couples doing sweet stuff, President Obama and Michelle were the target of a Kiss Cam at a basketball game sometime last month. Their daughter, Malia, was the first to notice when the Verizon Center's Kiss Cam zoomed in on the president and the first lady and she encouraged her parents to kiss.

Some of us indeed, like the guy in the story below, continue to get it wrong. Enjoy reading this and do have a splendid time with that special one in your life this Friday and Forever...

Why Men Cheat - Infidelity is a Necessary Evil?

Posted in: , , , , ,

In a comment on the unrepentant husband, someone wrote, "he is definitely fooling around and ladies when ur man starts to cheat it is not always because you are doing something wrong or not giving him a lot of attention. Some men just love the chase and they have no idea how much they are hurting you. It also doesnt mean they love u any less." A few people agreed with the anonymous comment.

Winners and Losers - Team Nigeria at London 2012

Posted in: , , , , , ,

I was cheering along with my MIL when the Nigerian contingent passed at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. We had been guessing whether they would wear tracks, suits or native, and what kind of native. I think their design choice was a good one, a blend of the different cultures and one of the more contemporary ones out there. I loved white being the dominant color and that gele!
