‘American Idol’ alum and plus size model Joanne Borgella has passed away at the age of 32 after an intense battle with endometrial cancer. Her family confirmed the news on her Facebook page where she had shared her battles and little victories with her fans and well wishers. Joanne was engaged to Alexis Ramirez, the love of her life. With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Joanne.
On Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 5:45AM, Joanne Borgella Ramirez was called by the Lord to heaven.
At an early age, Joanne made a choice to serve and trust the Lord; and since her diagnosis over a year ago, Joanne made a choice to also be a fighter and share her journey with the world. Her faith, courage and strength were unshaken throughout every obstacle she encountered. Although our family is suffering with this great loss, we find comfort in the closeness Joanne shared with the Lord. We know her spirit still shines and will continue to live on in heaven.

32 years ago today I was born into this world! God has blessed me every single day of my life. Through trials and tribulations he has given me peace, serenity and has carried me through! It is because of my faith in The Lord that I am here today and I am beyond thankful. The journey I have been on these past 9 months has not been easy BUT it has been beautiful. So thankful for all the love and prayers from family and friends and from those I have never met(love you guys) FAITH is a beautiful thing.. Trust and believe we can get through anything with God! Leave it all in his hands and believe.
