Genevieve tagged the picture of her in a simple blue thin-strapped floral gown with black cardigan "#aboutthismoment. #4thOfJuly". She's obviously at home with friends and has little or no make up on.

What I want to know is, who is that mystery man in the picture? Genny, do you want to tell us something?

Meanwhile, her picture is causing some controversy among her fans, some of whom don't think Nigerians should be marking the US Independence day when they don't live in America. Others came to her defense, saying there's nothing wrong with it.

Genevieve Nnaji Slams Punch With Scathing Rebuttal - Never Called Nollywood Bland and Mediocre

A newspaper interview granted by Genevieve Nnaji to Punch quoted her as saying that she was not willing to return to Nollywood as it has been characterized by mediocrity and blandness. 

Several players in the industry had called her out on the harsh words, and she has issued a rebuttal on her Instagram saying;

"I never called my industry bland and mediocre. Truth or not, they were NOT MY WORDS. As a person/writer, you can "assume" what you like about my thought process but DO not project those thoughts as "quotes" by me. It's distasteful, insensitive and quite unprofessional. It's insulting to those limited few working hard to make a difference in the industry. I am a product of Nollywood and my loyalty remains unshaken."

The part of the interview referenced asked the actress why she did not appear in more movies these days; and she had suppossedly said;

This movie was made in 2006 and I first saw the previews in 2007 and wanted to see it. It was finally released earlier this year. I hear the Film Censors Board in Nigeria are not very happy with the story and how it seems the movie makers were promoting terrorism or revolution in the movie. Well, thank God for the internet because they can now put the video online and anyone can see. I intend seeing it over this weekend, and you can watch it right here for $4.99. I think it's worth it.
