Giuliana Rancic Apologizes For Weed Comment About Zendaya's Locs At The Oscars
E! host Giuliana Rancic has apologized to Disney actress Zendaya Coleman after comments the presenter made about the teenage star's hairstyle at the Oscars backfired. The E! presenter said Zendaya looked like she smelled like weed while critiquing Zendaya's Oscar red carpet look and faux dread locks during Fashion Police Oscar episode.

On twitter, many posited that the comment was racially insensitive. 14-Year-Old White Girl Defends Her Box Braids Against Internet Backlash
14 year old Mallory Merk received criticism from a wide section of Black Twitter after this picture of her went viral on the social media network. The cyberbulling was because she was a white girl wearing box braids.
Like most young girls, Mallory shared her her new look on Twitter with a bathroom selfie that showed off her blonde extensions flowing down one shoulder. After the backlash, issued an apology saying she never meant to offend anyone and just wanted longer hair look. What do you think, should black people own the box-braid look? Why are other races not permitted to wear black women's hairstyles?

Natural Hairstyles In Vogue - Check Out Adaeze Yobo, Yvonne Jegede, Oreka Godis
Just yesterday, Khloe Kardashian debuted her braided cornrows [here] and it got me thinking about hairstyles for my natural hair. I could do cornrows easily when my hair was longer but now it's just growing out of the TWA, easy look hairstyles are harder to come by.
I spend a good amount of time searching for natural hair styles online, and often I leave my hair as wash and go. I have toyed around with the idea of cutting it again, but I'm not ready yet.
Seeing these lovely ladies rocking their natural hair gave me some life. Enjoy!

BET Apologizes For Blue Ivy Hair Joke, Fires 106 & Park Producers As Show Goes On Break
Less than one day after Blue Ivy was mocked on BET's 106 and Park by Karrueche Tran, who read out a rude joke via teleprompter, the whole show has gone on break.
The joke was along the lines of Blue Ivy saying she woke up with messy hair because her parents never combed her hair.
BET yesterday issued a public apology in which they said necessary reprimands have been handed out to those involved. Now it appears the punishment included the producers of the show being fired leading to the whole show being shut down.
The BET President of Music Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill, had mentioned punitive actions in his apology posted on Twitter; but no one thought it would be so extreme. He wrote;

US Navy Dismisses African-American Woman For Refusing To Cut Her Natural Hair
This week, the Navy announced that it was discharging Jessica Sims, who been a sailor for 12-years, for “failing to obey an order to cut off her natural hairstyle.”
The military has been under scrutiny for guidelines issued in March that critics believe were discriminatory toward African-American women. Those regulations;
“specifically forbid several hairstyles popular for black women who keep their hair natural, including twists, headbands, dreadlocks, or multiple braids that are larger than a quarter-inch.”
A former U.S. Army Major sharply criticized the regulations, noting they targeted “natural styles African American service women have been wearing for years.”

The Natural Hair Movement - Only For Black Women or Should We Include Other Races?
One of those forums for natural-haired girls to discuss about everything from hair tips, LOCs, Big Chops, CoWashs to personal natural hair journeys is CurlyNikki.com.
Yesterday, a young white woman by the name of Sarah (or Vlogger Waterlily716 on Youtube) shared her natural hair journey, and there was some sort of outcry, as most of the site's readers felt the site should just be for black women and nut just any curly woman, especially when they are not at all black.
The comments section now has almost 550 comments most of them insisting that other races should not be involved in "the natural hair movement."

Lupita's Side Hustle in College Was Braiding Hair For Friends, Watch Her Show Her Skills!
Lupita Nyong'o is smart, beyond talented, and all around amazing. But what most of us didn't know was that she loves braiding hair for her friends.
On her recent photoshoot with Vogue [see here], the Oscar-winning actress filmed an intimate hair video where she braided a group of her closest girlfriends' hair—basically giving us a direct view into what it’s really like to be her bestie.
I was expecting to see Chimamanda Adichie there, and though she's not, it's easy to see that the two will be besties in due time.
Lupita explains that she learnt how to braid hair in Kenya intending for it to be her side hustle while in college and graduate school in the US, but while she braided her college friends hair all the time, she didn’t have the heart to charge them after all.

Beyonce Puts Blue Ivy's Hair in Afro Puffs, Goes Back To Her Blond Curls
Jay Z and Beyonce seem to have finally decided to make sure Blue Ivy's hair ceases to be a talking point but keeping it combed and in a bun at all times.
They were photographed on a yacht after their Miami "On the Run" concert with Blue Ivy and the little girl was rocking her natural hair in two puffs.
Beyonce herself has removed her long braids and is back to rocking strawberry blonde curls. She and Jay Z looked genuinely happy as a couple as they spent quality family time with Blue Ivy.
I hope people can finally stop with the Blue Ivy hair petitions.

Woman Who Started the Petition to Comb Blue Ivy's Hair Says It Was All A Joke
This is the picture of Blue Ivy's hair that got Jasmine Toliver starting a change.org petition to have the hair combed. Now she says via her FB page that it was all a joke. Really? SMH...
My joke took off anything I guess with "sign a petition" is funny if I would've said "sign a petition to save Lebron James hairline" that would've took off too! It's a clever joke.! Nobody came up with before. These blogs and websites are doing the most.
My hair looks like blue ivy right now except its moisturized and detangled. Yes I'm natural.! Have a seat to most people. I can care less about Beyoncé or jay z but I do care for the kids hair.
People make nothing out of something. I love being black! I'm proud my bloodline runs from Africa. I'm proud of my own tightly coiled kinks. I'm proud of my big lips and brown skin. People just need to breathe and chill out.
