American Sends Over $100,000 to Wife He's Never Met in Nigeria

53-year-old Steven, an American, claims to have sent $100,000 to a woman in Nigeria, whom he claims is his wife but never met, over the past 2 and a half years. Steven met the woman named “Kelly” online, and according to him, they got married legally in Nigeria. Though they've never met in person, the couple communicate regularly online.

Kelly told Steve that her parents had died in a car accident in Ohio in 2012, and that she was to inherit $25.6 million from her dead parents. And so, Steve is assisting her financially until she gets her inheritance.

Wole Soyinka, author and Nobel Laureate has opened up on where he stands in the current politics ahead of the 2015 Nigerian elections. While not openly declaring for APC, he insisted that no one should vote for President Goodluck Jonathan, as his leadership has been a complete failure.

He reportedly made this declaration at the 2015 edition of Vision of the Child (VOTC) event in Lagos, a yearly programme inaugurated in 2012, according to Sahara Reporters. The 2015 edition of Vision of the Child event was themed “The Road to Sambisa.”

90-year-old Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe, is reported to have fallen down the steps while walked down from a podium after speaking to supporters upon his return from Ethiopia. Mugabe appeared to miss a step and toppled when he left the raised lectern at the airport on Wednesday afternoon, according to several witnesses, who insisted on anonymity because of security concerns.

His aides quickly helped him up and escorted him to his limousine which sped away, they said. Some press photographers who captured the fall said they were forced to delete their pictures by security personnel. Mugabe's spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
