George Zimmerman Detained by Police After He Pulls a Gun on His Estranged Wife and her Father

Posted in: , , ,

George Zimmerman was acquitted of murdering unarmed teen Trayvon Martin last month, but his woes seem to be just starting. In a movie I watched recently, a character says, "When you do something wrong, even though you may get away from the law, you keep paying". That seems to be the case with Zimmerman.

Just four days ago, his wife, Shellie Zimmerman, had filed for divorce after almost 7 years of marriage.

In an interview with ABC News shown Friday, Shellie Zimmerman called her husband of six years “selfish” and said he believes he’s “invincible” after being found not guilty in the racially charged Trayvon Martin case. ‘I think I’m realizing that I have been married to a person for almost seven years, and I don’t think that I ever really knew him at all.’

To compound his issues, George Zimmerman then went into a rage yesterday at his former father-in-law's house, punching him in the face and pulling a gun on his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, as well as a knife. She called 911 screaming, “I’m really, really scared, I don’t know what he’s capable of.”

According to NY Daily News,

Shellie Zimmerman, 26, told a police dispatcher that her husband flew into a rage just after 2 p.m. and punched her father, Colin Morgan, in the nose. She said that after smashing her iPad, he began waving a gun, threatening, “one step closer and he’d shoot us.”

Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said the Stand-Your-Ground poster boy was taken into custody and questioned, but was expected to be released without being charged.

Bracknell said Shellie Zimmerman and her father, Colin Morgan, refused to press charges.

“We have no victim, no crime,” Bracknell told the Orlando Sentinel.

It was not immediately clear what sent tempers flying.
