Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde stumbled across her First School Leaving Certificate today, and shared it on Twitter. The star actress was very happy to show that she's always excelled in debating and acting, and said that not much has changed.
She also held the post of cupboard monitor and had received a prize for most well-behaved pupil. The teacher also noted that she was hard-working and co-operative. So I agree with her that not much has indeed changed.
But what I find especially revealing about the certificate is that she left Primary School in 1987. How old did Omotola say she was again?
Oh my word! Just found this! Lmsao! Has anything changed? 😝 Happy New month Osexynation! #remainconsistent pic.twitter.com/vux7Pr62iN

She said she was born 1978 so in 1987 when she graduated primary school, she was 9years old. That's very possible, depending on the school. The standard should be to begin primary one at 5-6yrs but some schools, due to greed admit pupils notwithstanding. And Omotola must have been a big size child, with her long hands going totally over her left ears. Hence, qualified! lmao

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that you would doubt her age. I finished primary school at 8 in 1988 and there were tons of other students in Lagos that finished at 8, 9 and 10 years of age.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a couple of double promotions? Or she entered primary school at age 4...
