Blogger Reverses Ban On Graphic Nudity After Backlash

My heart skipped a bit when I read from a link at the top of my Blogger homepage that my account may be flout new Google Blogger content policies on nudity and sexually explicit material. In discussing with Atala, I said that it appeared that Google was extending the limits on Blogger about what they think acceptable freedom of speech and expression on their platform.

With the ban, bloggers would have stopped having the freedom to "publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity." The ban was to have taken place on March 23. Read the message below

So I stared blogging back in 2009 as a romantic fiction writer, and for a couple of years, I focused on hyping my books and that of other guest authors. By 2011, I started blogging for money but remained in the romance niche, with topics on relationships and personal stories.

In 2013, there were certain incidents that made me dramatically scale back on personal stories, and around the same time, I decided to increase my earnings from blogging. After reaching out to a few people that I felt could help me build a platform niche in relationships, I found no interest and the only option seemed to be entertainment and news reporting.

Between Linda Ikeji and Mr Aye Dee - A Shocking Story of Love Gone Sour or Conspiracy?

So Linda Ikeji is back on blogger after Google has supposedly reviewed her case and found her plagiarism or breach of terms not worthy of a blog deletion.

Linda has shared a story on her newly restored blog, sharing screen grabs of a chat she had with someone named Aye Dee where he reveals he is a former very close confidante of her whom she had begun to neglect. Out of a personal grudge when she wouldn't respnd to his emails, he decided to teach her a lesson.

Aye Dee released a series of tweets in rebuttal, saying it is all professional and there is nothing personal about it. Linda stole his copyrighted materials, and when she wouldn't respond to his efforts to contact her, he took the appropriate action.

However, you know how they say there are three sides to every story? I'm wondering from the facts available if it wasn't all a conspiracy, and maybe Linda may have removed her own blog as a publicity ploy hatched with Mr Aye Dee to further popularize her already runaway blog.

It's Not A Case Of Witch Hunting - Google Responds To Removing Linda Ikeji's Blog

Since making my post yesterday about Linda's blog, I've found out more about what the issues are. I can only say that as a blogger, this affects us all, and we can only learn from it, including Linda herself, who I know for sure will bounce back. Already she has tweeted about making plans to be back soon.

I just woke up some minutes ago and as usual, I was visiting my favorite blogs, when I found that Linda's blog has been removed?

I did a quick google search and found a thread about it on Nairaland.

Top Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji got herself the 2014 Range Rover, said to cost N24million, for her birthday. She shared the photos of the new toy and her fleet of expensive cars on her blog, saying;

"Yay! My dad finally gave me permission to buy the 2014 Range Rover and I'm beyond happy. I've wanted this car for so long but he was against me buying it. But it's my birthday this Friday and he finally agreed that I could buy it for myself as a birthday present."

Now, a few poeple seem to think there is something off about sharing the pictures of the cars on her blog. Thelma Thinks posted 16 Thoughts on the announcement asking,

"Is she just proud of her achievements and trying to encourage others, or is she trying to make people jealous? Hmmm *thinking*. Ok, why is she showing us her three cars side by side? Now she's just rubbing it in jor!"

Throwback Thurday - Halima Abubakar and Stella Dimokokorkus Kiss And Make Up

For #tbt today, there's these photos of actress Halima Abubakar and blogger Stella Dimokokorkus hanging out together. So it seems the two old friends had some recent falling out over a bikini picture, but that has been sorted out now.

Halima shared the pictures as a reminder of how far they've both come, and Stella buried the hatchet. All is well that ends well. With blogging anyway, it's rarely anything personal :)

My Big Nigerian Wedding Season 1 has just concluded with the marriage of the lucky couple Yemisi Aiyedun and Yomi Odusanya who had their traditional wedding with glam and fun fair yesterday.

Yemisi & Yomi were the lucky winners of a N15 Million wedding in the My Big Nigerian Contest organised by WED Expo.

The event took place at The Summit, Alausa, Ikeja yesterday. Their white wedding holds today at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gbagada and will be followed by a grand reception at The Haven Event Center, Ikej GRA.

Mommy Blogger Lacey Spears Arrested For Poisoning Son To Death For Online Attention

Lacey Spears told her wide online followers that from the moment her son Garnett was born, he was afflicted with never-ending illnesses. When he was only 5 days old, she rushed him to the hospital for an ear infection, with blood pouring from his nose. He had fevers, infections and, failed to add weight, she said. By ninth months, she said, he was using a feeding tube.

Now the boy is dead before his fifth birthday, and according to the authorities, Ms. Spears was the real cause of her son’s illnesses. Ms. Spears has been arrested and charged with the murder of her 5-year-old son on Tuesday, accused by the authorities of fatally poisoning him in January with an overdose of sodium.

Investigators believe Ms. Spears has a rare mental illness called Munchausen syndrome by proxy, that often involves a mother’s causing or inventing health symptoms so that her child gets medical care.

At the Naija Hair Can Grow Salon Day and How my Hair was Tamed By Palm Oil and Honey

After my 30hrs+ long journey from Seattle to Lagos, my hair felt so sticky, and it didn't help that it was due for a touch-up. So I went to a nearby salon and had them wash and blow dry it. The result was not very good, not only did the stylist add too much oily hair cream, she used the highest setting on the blow drier and brushed my hair like it was going out of fashion. I had to stop the proceedings when smoke started billowing from my hair #justhalfkidding :)
