What’s it like being a mother?

It’s been a wonderful experience being mother to this wonderful son of mine. When the little boy came out from my body, I discovered that he’s my first real love. I thought I was in love with my husband not until I saw my son. I have never loved somebody that much in my life.

Jennifer Aniston Says Birthing A Child Does Not Define Her Value As A Woman

Posted in: , , , ,

Many questions have followed Jennifer Aniston throughout her career, especially during her marriage to Brad Pitt, one of the most desirable men in Hollywood, their eventual divorce, and Brad going to have several biological and adopted children with Angelina Jolie.

Now that Jennifer Aniston is engaged again to fiance Justin Theroux, some of these questions have started up again including; "When is she getting married? Will she have children? Is she pregnant now?"

In an interview with TODAY's Carson Daly, Jennifer Aniston shared her take on the expectations that come with the questions.

“I don’t have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and…if they’re not checked, then I’ve failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman because I haven’t birthed a child. I’ve birthed a lot of things, and I feel like I’ve mothered many things. And I don’t feel like it’s fair to put that pressure on people.”

Below is the video of their conversation and more of what she spoke about in the interiew;

Comedian Princess Speaks On Her Failed Marriage, Depression And Career

Posted in: , ,

Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, tells Punch in a new interview about her career and life after her marriage which lasted less than one month.

As a Theatre Art student, was it your desire to go into comedy?
No. I never knew I would be a stand-up comedian. I thank God any way. We went for a show at MUSON Centre (Lagos). We had a stage play performance. I used to make my friends laugh during rehearsals. So that day, we were waiting for the comedians that were supposed to perform at that event. So somebody suggested that I should go on the stage and perform. That was how it started. But the likes of Wale Adenuga encouraged me to go into it full time.

Are there times you wish you weren’t a celebrity especially when you are linked with controversies?
The only time I felt bad about my fame was when my marriage ended. I felt if I weren’t this popular; people wouldn’t have talked about it. So many marriages crash on a daily basis but you will not hear about them. Some people have been married five times but you will not hear their gist because they are not in the eye of the public. People didn’t know that the marriage had broken up until December when I felt I was strong enough to handle the publicity that it generated.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde On The Meaning of Success, Her Childhood And Staying Scandal Free

Posted in: , , ,

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she had a humble background and still feels passionate about the divide between poverty and wealth, Makoko and Island. The actress, activist and philanthropist also talks about what success means to her, her fears, achievements and being scandal-free. Excerpts from the interview, with Sunday Sun, follow...

Can you give us tips on how to be a successful woman?
It actually starts with character, personality and what beliefs. Everything wrong today actually started from the content of a character. Are you immoral or are you straight forward enough to actually say something and carry through with it. Is the content of your character strong enough? I believe that for you to be great in anything, you have to be someone anyone can trust.you believe in. It stems from your moral.

Can you define what success means to you?
I think success is when God is happy with you. When the closest people around you are happy with you and when your soul is at peace with you.

Mercy Johnson On How She Handles Criticism and What Success Means To Her

Posted in: ,

Mercy Johnson-Okojie has opened up about criticism in both her personal and work life as well as what success means to her. In the interview with City People Magazine, the actress looked back to her humble beginnings as the biggest part of what drives her to keep achieving despite all odds.

On if she is distracted by criticism: “Haaa! I couldn’t have been distracted. For several reasons. One, because I grew up knowing what Tears and Hunger mean. One of my biggest phobias was failure.

Because people will keep criticising when they want exactly what you have. They hate and they talk, but they want what you have. They crave to have what you have. So when they talk, the only way to shut them up is to even do better and up your game. The criticisms you get mostly are not constructive.

They are just bitter. When you see the one that is just bitter you know.”

When I got to know her background, then I realized that indeed she was from a good home for her to have kept a low profile in school. I could see that she was indeed a replica of her parents. That is rare these days."

What’s your philosophy about marriage?

It’s always about family, whatever you do; it must always be about family. Even when you think of misbehaving, always have your family at the back of your mind. Because if you lose everything in the world and you still have your family, there are chances you will find some form of happiness and rebuild. But if you gain everything in the world and lose your family, the chances that you will be able to rebuild may be practically impossible.
