This news is so sad because I remember while I was still in the UK, reading about English footballer Rio Ferdinand in the papers falling in love with Rebecca Ellison. I was dating Atala long distance at the time, and as it turned out, they got married the same year as we did.

So imagine my shock when I read the news today that Rebecca Ferdinand died in a hospital in London following a short battle with cancer. Rio Ferdinand's announcement of the sad news is terribly heartbreaking.

Woman Died After Childbirth At Eko Hospital Due to Negligence - Petition

A few days ago, the death was reported of Dolapo Adesanya, who had passed away after a complicated delivery at Eko Hospital in Lagos. Many blamed the hospital for what they called an avoidable death. A petition was even started which has received over 1,300 signatures as at today. The petition stated that negligence by Staff of Eko Hospital, Lagos resulted in the death of Dolapo Adesanya, and called on the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to sanction the Hospital.

A friend of the family who was close the events leading up to Dolapo's death wrote an article questioning the ethics of the hospital and calling for an investigation of what he termed negligence. On a Nigerian site where this picture was posted, someone commented that doctors in the country rarely mourned their patients when they died, but a medical commenter on the site decided to speak up for the profession. Three French sports personalities have been named among the 10 people who lost their lives in Argentina when a couple of helicopters collided. The two helicopters, carrying contestants and two pilots, crashed into each other and exploded during the production of ‘Dropped,’ a French reality show.

This news is just so heartbreaking! Several Ghanaian pupils going on an excursion to the mount Afadjato have lost their lives in an extremely horrible accident. The children were from a school in Kasoa going towards Afadjato on an excursion today March 10th when the accident occurred. Nine-month-old baby boy, Casey Kessler, painfully starved to death in an apartment two weeks after his mother overdosed on drugs and died. His mother Sara, who had not been in contact with her family for almost a fortnight, is believed to have died a week or two earlier according to autopsy reports.

Sara's mother died of natural causes in the same apartment in November and no one else lived on their floor. The little baby was found dead in the living room of the flat in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after a concerned relative visited the home.

Bobbi Kristina Brown's Breathing Tube Removed - Sources

Bobbi Kristina is the only daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown and has been hospitalized since last week Saturday when she was found unresponsive and face down in a filled bathtub in her home. Sources are now saying that the breathing tube has been removed, according to CNN.

There were earlier reports that the family agreed to remove her from life support on Feb 11 to coincide with the third anniversary of her mother's death. However,  the Brown family later released an official statement on the comatose 21-year-old, rejecting the initial reports that she will be let go on that date.

17-Year-Old DJ Commits Suicide After Months of Battling Depression

This is just so sad. A 17 year old boy,  Billy Watts, from Detroit, committed suicide in October 2014 by jumping into the Detroit River. Popularly known as DJ Kill Bill, the student of Renaissance High School in Detroit documented his journey to his death on his social media.

He snapped many photos from waking up to just before killing himself on Instagram. These are some photos he took on Instagram with captions like "Smile, you' lived", "I'm here" and "Time to see if my watch is waterproof." A few minutes after posting the pics and messages, he jumped into the water. His body was found a few hours later.

Some stories are just so heartbreaking! A man has been accused of murdering his two-day-old baby girl by using the infant as a weapon against her mother, and appeared briefly in court at the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in Pretoria.

Alexander Forba Nde, 32, from Cameroon, is charged with murder and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. The heavy-set, muscular man looked at his feet when escorted into court by correctional services officers and sported a bruise on his cheek. He stood wringing his hands behind his back throughout proceedings.

Comedian Seyi Law & Wife Suffer Heartbreaking Loss of Baby

Comedian Seyilaw and wife Stacy Ebere are currently mourning the loss of their child. Stacy lost the baby she was supposed to give birth to later this April. The couple who tied the knot in 2011 sadly lost their child before the birth.

"Listen to their screams...", an African woman told her husband as she called to tell him she was burning their 3 daughters alive. Reportedly high on drugs, she locked her three daughters in their garden shed and set it on fire, forcing her husband to listen at the end of a phone. She went on to say;

"I can hear their screams but I will do nothing to save them.You'd better hurry but you will be too late to rescue them. They won't survive. I will never surrender my children to you."

Mother Says 2 Month-Old Brutally Killed By 11-Year-Old Was 'Most Perfect Baby Ever'

The mother of a 2-month-old baby girl who police suspect was beaten to death over the weekend by a friend's 11-year-old daughter said Tuesday it was the girl who asked that the baby stay overnight with her and her mother.

Trina Whitehead, 31, of Cleveland, told The Associated Press that she and the girl's mother were best friends and that she never saw anything in the girl's behavior that concerned her. Whitehead said her two daughters, who are 8 and 7 years old, previously stayed the night at the friend's home in suburban Wickliffe without any reported problems.

Rachel Gow, 29, a hospital administrator from Lancashire, has been ruled to have killed herself, after she was found dead by poisoning last November. It was found at the inquest that she was worried her boyfriend Anton Tsvarev, 30 would leave her, and suffered a number of insecurities about the relationship.

Rachel was said to have struggled to overcome the death of her mother, and desperately wanted a family of her own. Her greatest wish was to 'settle down and get married' and she recently became very troubled that she was approaching 30 unmarried and childless.

ISIS Hostage, Kayla Mueller, Confirmed Dead by Family + Letter She Wrote In Captivity

Kayla Mueller is an American aid worker abducted in 2013 by ISIS, and four days ago, the group claimed she was killed in a Jordanian airstrike. Her parents, Carl and Marsha Mueller,  have now issued a statement confirming her death. The White House also confirmed the death in a separate statement, but gave no further details. The family wrote;

Bobbi Kristina Brown is still unconscious in hospital and being kept alive with life support machines. Though doctors have reportedly told her father there's nothing more they can do, and that it was time to take her off, the family is praying and keeping hope alive.

New reports are now saying that they have agreed to take her off life support, but want to wait until Wednesday so she can die on the same date as her mother, Whitney Houston. The move is a symbolic way to keep the mother and daughter together for eternity, according to a
