The Ashley Madison website hack last year had everyone, including the experts as well as the ordinary people married to the outed cheaters, asking for the real reasons behind infidelity. It was very interesting to discover that 56% of men and 34% of women who cheat rate their marriage as happy or very happy, which makes the reason people cheat a little harder to understand. Nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a fairytale proposal, in the perfect setting with a glittering diamond ring but according to a new survey almost a quarter (23 per cent) of women said that their partner’s proposal did not live up to their expectations.

The survey of 1000 Brits who were engaged within the last 10 years by bespoke ethical jeweller, Ingleandrhode.co.uk , found that of those who were disappointed by their partners engagement, over two thirds (70 per cent)said it was due to the setting of the proposal, whereas only 14 per cent who said they were disappointed due to the ring.
