Damage deals with the issue of domestic violence and the psychological effect it could have especially on the children. A man and his wife love each other immensely yet their day to day life can only be described as a "cat and mouse" situation as they fight violently almost on a daily basis. I watched Damage and would rate it a 3 out of 5, there is good use of suspense and even if hyperbolic, it nails the message of no to domestic violence perfectly.

I hear the Film Censors Board in Nigeria are not very happy with the story and how it seems the movie makers were promoting terrorism or revolution in the movie. Well, thank God for the internet because they can now put the video online and anyone can see. I intend seeing it over this weekend, and you can watch it right here for $4.99. I think it's worth it.

They say good things come to those who wait. I watched Araromire on the HiBuzz app in December 2011 after making a payment of $7 in October and enduring a couple of months of the site's technical issues. Now Aroromire is free on youtube for all those who have been waiting for it, and some of us who can't wait to see it again.

The movie is one of the two best Nigerian movies - the other is Ije [review] - I've seen in the past couple of years. This is one of the reasons other Nollywood directors have a lot of work to do to catch up, this movie is amazing. The actors are on point, the story twists and trips keeps you guessing and tense for most of the film and the end is a very satisfying. From the blurb;

Araromire is neither good nor evil; for anyone that comes in contact with her shall flourish for seven years and for another seven years that follows, Araromire becomes wrathful, unleashing terror and destruction on whoever has her in custody.

It will be a mixed one because while Last Flight to Abuja is above average for most Nollywood movies, there's a lot of room for improvement. But it's definitely worth $3.99 to see the story and support the producers, led by Director, Obi Emelonye. Below is the blurb of LFTA.

Oleku is a timeless love classic produced by Tunde Kelani in the 70s or 80s. I hear that the movie was so popular when it came out that it sparked a fashion revolution in Nigeria with the short aso oke Iro and Buba which is still called Oleku today. I had not watched this movie before and will try to finish it by the weekend. Shot in Yoruba with English subtitles, the movie Synopsis is as follows;

So I blogged about the Lekki Wives series earlier, wondering if they were the morality police or something. This was based on their overly politically-and-religiously-correct PR. But the production and previews were enough to get me interested, and so when it became available, I tried out the first four episodes.

It may be too early to call, but let's just say the show is quite engaging. Maybe by the end, everyone would start getting their comeuppances in order to drive the message, but for now, girls just wanna have fun. The Lekki wives are either not smiling, or they're having the time of their lives.

There are five storylines and by the end of the fourth season, a little or a lot as the case may be, has been revealed about all the lekki wives. As you can easily guess, some plots are better and more realistic than others. I have my favorites already; the trophy wife with the ample butt, followed closely by the one torn between two worlds. Which side do you think she chooses?
